U.S. adults believing the internet should be a free speech zone 2022, by age group
A March 2022 survey conducted in the United States found that 54 percent of adults aged 45 to 64 years thought that the internet should be a free speech zone, where speech should be uncensored. Overall, almost a quarter of respondents in the 18 to 29 year age group agreed with this statement. Furthermore, respondents over the age of 65 disagreed the most with this statement, with 34 percent stating that they did not think speech on the internet should be unrestricted.
